Q. What is Give Local Isabella?

Give Local Isabella is a day of giving fueled by the power of collaboration and social media. Give Local Isabella is an initiative to help charitable organizations grow endowment funds established for their benefit at Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation.


Q. When is Give Local Isabella?

Give Local Isabella is on May 4th, 2021 from midnight to 11:59 PM.


Q. Which organizations can participate?

Organizations benefiting from designated endowment funds hosted by the Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation are eligible to participate in Give Local Isabella. If an organization benefits from multiple endowment funds, leaders of the organization must choose one endowment for which to raise resources.


Q. Who can donate?

Anyone may donate. All donations made during Give Local Isabella are tax-deductible and cannot be refunded. Credit and debit card donations must be made via the Give Local Isabella website. Cash and check may be presented in person to an MPACF staff member at the Hersee House during regular business hours on May 4th, 2021 only. All donations will be receipted by GiveGab.


Q. How do I help my favorite organization raise money before and during Give Local Isabella?

All are encouraged to spread the word about the upcoming event among family and friends via social media, email, text, carrier pigeon, etc. The website also allows individuals to sign up as peer-to-peer fundraisers for any organization registered. Visit the organization profile and select the maroon "Fundraise" button at the top. Follow the prompts to create your own profile and password. GiveGab will then generate a unique weblink that you may share with peers via any of the mediums listed above before and during Give Local Isabella


Q. What is GiveGab?

GiveGab is a nonprofit giving platform that helps nonprofits to raise money, engage donors and manage volunteers quickly and efficiently. GiveGab offers a full portfolio of simple and easy to use products that allows organizations to function in a more streamlined manner.


Q. Do I need to create an account with GiveGab to donate?

No, you do not need to create an account to make a donation. Tax receipts are sent to your email address immediately after your donation is processed. To claim a donation as a deduction on your taxes, you should retain each donation receipt as an official record. However, you may choose to create an account with GiveGab so that you may track your online donations over time, keep your tax receipts in one location, follow the charities you support, and engage in future volunteering. The choice is yours!


Q. Who will receive my contact information?

The organization(s) you choose to support will have access to your name and email address. This information is used solely to send thank you messages, provide the option to receive future notifications, and to notify you of future activities.


Q. Can I make donations via a mobile device?

Yes! Simply visit givelocalisabella.org on your mobile device.


Q. Can I pre-schedule a donation for Give Local Isabella?

You cannot pre-schedule your Give Local Isabella gift, but you may make a donation to a participating nonprofit before or after Give Local Isabella. In order for your donation to count toward the $50,000 in prize incentives for Give Local Isabella organizations, though, it must be made between midnight and 11:59 p.m. on May 4th, 2021.


Q. How will donations be distributed?

Each donation made to a participating organization will be disbursed to the endowment fund that benefits them within two weeks of the event. It is up to each participating organization to determine if their donations will be placed in either the spendable or the principal portion of the fund.


Q. How much of my donation goes to the nonprofit?

Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation has invested in the platform on behalf of participating organizations. GiveGab and credit card processing fees are 5.5% + $0.30 for all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover). Donors are given the option to cover these fees and if this option is chosen, 100% of the online charitable gift will go to the organization's fund. All donations are final and cannot be refunded. Any donations processed outside the Give Local Isabella donation period, through GiveGab.com, or subsequent recurring donations are subject to transaction fees outlined on the GiveGab.com pricing page: http://info.givegab.com/pricing.


Q. What if my preferred organization is not listed?

Consider starting an endowment fund benefiting your preferred organization. Contact Amanda Schafer to start the process. This will make your preferred organization eligible for next year's Give Local Isabella!
